Shariah Economic This Year (SETY) SEF UGM 2011

Theme :
“Islamic Microfinance and The Future of Islamic Finance Industry In Southeast Asia”
 

SETY 2011 International Essay Competition consists of two categories (Public and Student). It is an INDIVIDUAL competition. The essay must be original and it has not been participated and published previously in the media (such as magazines, newspapers, journals, etc). All incoming essays belong to the comittee (The comittee have a right to use all incoming essays for non-commercial activity without informed previously to the author's essay). Each participant may submit more than one essay, but the winner will be entitled to only one prize. The prize will be awarded to a contestant  with  highest-scoring essay. 

Topics :

—  The Future and Challenge of Shariah Based Financial Industry Microfinance  in Southeast Asia
—  The role of islamic microfinance in SME (small medium enterprise) development in Southeast Asian countries.
—  The Rationale of Islamic microfinance in improving the welfare and prosperity of South-east Asian countries
—  How Islamic microfinance copes with global trend on free trade in Southeast Asia?

Judging Criteria:
—    Originality of the essay
—    Coherence of the essay with the theme
—  Organization of ideas
—  Relevance with the real condition
—  Feasibility of ideas presented
—  Language style
—     Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification
—     Judge’s decision is final and inviolability

Registration System :
·         The registration form can be downloaded here!
·         Registration fee should be paid:
            Rp50.000 for Indonesian participant
            US$20 for foreign participant
            (the second essay which is sent by the same person will be counted in the same registration fee charge)
Transfer payment  for registration fee can be done through bank account:  014 370 6557 (Prin Ferina Sari).
·         Scan transfer payment note must be attached along with one of your essay and registration form  to essay.sety2011@yahoo.co.id. If you want to send more than one essay, please send every single essay on separated email.
*for student category, please also attach your student identity, for example: student ID cards, in JPG/JPEG format

·         confirmation of essay acceptance will be announced by e-mail after completing all registration system.
·         Only essay with completed documents is going to be proceeded.

—  2nd Winner: US$225 + certificate + invitation to attend the international conference of SETY 2011
¢  Student Category (S1 & D3/Undergraduate and Diploma)
—  1st Winner: US$280 + certificate + invitation to attend the International conference and opening ceremony of SETY 2011
—  2nd Winner: US$170 + certificate + invitation to attend the international conference of SETY 2011

*The 1st winner in each category will present their essay briefly at the opening ceremony of SETY 2011
 (note : The accommodation for the winners is not covered by committee. The committee will only be responsible with the accommodation arrangement by request)
